Ride into the Romney Marsh Bike Show in September

If you've never shown your bike before, Elk Promotions' Romney Marsh Ride-In Show and Bike Jumble on Sunday 20th September 2026 is the ideal place to give it a go.

There's no booking in advance, registering or filling in forms, just ride in, pay the regular entry fee and park in the designated Ride-In Show area. That's it: you're in the running for a £25 spot-cash prize as Best Classic or Best Post-Classic machine.

The Post-Classic category opens the door to a huge range of bikes, so if your pride and joy is an eighties superbike, a nineties commuter, or something more modern, it's every bit as welcome as a girder-forked veteran. It's the taking part (and the riding there) that counts.

The recent Summer event winners show the variety that turns up: best Classic went to Jack Osborne from Kent and his 1923 Raleigh Model 3, a  belt-drive 350cc side-valve, while Best Post-Classic went to Martyn Carter, who rode his 1972 Laverda SF750 on a 200-mile round trip from Essex.

For those with projects on the go – or looking for a new one – the bike jumble offers parts, tools and expert advice aplenty, with traders travelling from far and wide. The free BikeMart display-to-sell area returns too: simply pay the standard entry and bring your bike along to buy or sell complete machines. And if your garage needs decluttering, Workshop Clear-Out stalls are available at just £15, including admission for two people.

The show takes place at Hamstreet, Kent TN26 2JD, with easy access from the M20 at Ashford – just follow the signs when you enter the village. 

Gates open at 10am, with adult admission just £5, seniors £4, and accompanied under-16s free. Earlybird admission from 8am is £10 – ideal for bargain-hunters. Last admission is 1:30pm and the event closes at 3:30pm (subject to weather). Pay on the morning by cash or card, or buy online in advance.

There's free parking, well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome, and refreshments come from hand-picked local vendors. Reserved disabled parking sits next to accessible toilets, on a fairly level grass site.
